- Oceanside Ca -
Perfect blend of Beaches, Accommodations, Attractions and Prices
There is no wonder Oceanside Ca is one of San Diego's best vacation spots. With the seemingly endless sand beaches and the beautiful pier walk leading to a classic burger joint you may think you died and went to heaven. The best affordable beach front accommodations are here in oceanside!

Great things to doThere are countless activities to take part in when you are in oceanside. Some of the most common are the lazy days at the beach, taking long walks down the pier, and surfing at one of the sand bars, the pier, or the jetties. While I still enjoy all of these things, some of the local things to do are to take part in the Farmers Market that goes on pretty much all day on Thursdays, to hang out at the coffee shop on Pier View, to play beach volleyball at one of the public nets, or go rock climbing at the arcadian ascents. You can also visit the surf museum, rent a boat from Oceanside Ca Harbor, or take the Oceanside Trolley Station to pretty much anywhere in San Diego.
Places to EatMy favorite food in the world is sushi, and Harney Sushi right off the beach has some of the best. 333 Seafood is also an incredible option for seafood and steaks, just remember you get what you pay for so come willing to spend. Ruby's diner at the end of the pier is a sure tourist favorite. The food is decent but the experience makes it worth it. The fish joint, Rosinas, Rockin Baja, and beach break cafe all deserve an honorable mention and come highly recommended.
Places to StayOceanside Ca is an amazing place to visit, but if your going to come, stay on the beach. The closer you stay to the beach and the pier, the more central you will be. Pretty much everything you would want to do is easily accessible and usually walkable from the pier. The options range from a ton of cheaper hotels, to time shares, and local beach homes. Though carlsbad has nicer traditional beach hotels, I recommend looking into the many beach condo's that are for rent. You can get some amazing accommodations at very affordable rates. hotels in San Diego page.
Places to SurfOceanside is an amazing place for surfers. Because of the many easily accessible surf breaks and local secrets, no one spot is usually too crowded. All of the beach breaks are dependent on sand bars and are usually best mid tide and off-shore (east) winds. As usual, both sides of the pier tend to develop good sand bars as well as the north jetty and south jetty. Both North and South Jetty are some of my favorites and are north of the pier and just south of the Oceanside Harbor. If you have access to a boat, or camp pendleton, you should check out one of the heaviest beach breaks around called Del Mar Jetties or DMJ's. This wave can be great barrels and the crowd is usually quite manageable.
Oceanside Ca has great beaches, but don't forget to check other beaches in SD
