The hotel Sheraton located across from the airport on Harbor Island is absolutely beautiful. I have to personally recommend this one cause this is where me and my wife got married! Their rooms have beautiful views, either facing the marina yachts or seeing the reflection of downtown across the bay. Overall this is my favorite hotel near San Diego airport.

Hilton Airport Hotel

The Hilton Hotel at San Diego Airport is near downtown, point loma, and is situated on Harbor Island right on the Big Bay. Not only is this another great hotel on Harbor Island but it may actually be the closest hotel to the airport. Certainly close enough to walk (not that you would with free transport service). My favorite restaurant in san diego, Island Prime, is just a short walk away and is perfect for either lunch on their outside patio or indoors at their fine dining restaurant. All around a great Hilton Hotel in the perfect location for a hotel near San Diego airport.
