The Best Budget, Discount and Cheap Hotels in San Diego...
For Cheap Hotels San Diego there are many great options, depending on what you're looking for and planning to do.
Having traveled and lived for years on a smaller budget, I have become quite the bargain hunter. There are times to splurge, but we can't always afford to drop top dollar. Don't Worry. There are some really great accommodations for a smaller budget. Yes, you could always just book Motel 6, but you wouldn't be here if that's all you wanted. If you want more for your hard earned money, then wait no longer. Here are our insider hotel recommendations...
Good Nite Inn San Diego
The Good Nite Inn chain has some of the cheapest rooms in San Diego. The age old truth of "you get what you pay for" does apply here. This is a good clean hotel and can often offer rooms under fifty dollars! There are three locations. One is in southern San Diego near Chula Vista. Another one is labeled Good Night Inn Seaworld, which can be slightly misleading since it is actually 3 miles away from Seaworld. None the less, it is very centrally located and if saving money is your highest priority, this may be your choice. Sister Hotels:Good Nite South Bay, Good Nite Mission Valley

Humphrey's By The Bay
Excellence among cheap hotels San Diego? This may well be your dream come true. If you are looking for a classy vacation experience at the best price possible, give Humphrey's a look. This hotel has very clean rooms, some of the lushest hotel grounds, a high class restaurant, a great polynesian feel, and many of their cheapest rooms sport bay views. Prices fluctuate greatly here, but I have found rooms well under a hundred dollars on many occasions throughout the year. Also, they have a summer concert series at Humphrey's back-stage live that you can hear for free at many of the rooms. This is a great venue with classic acts like Seal, James Blunt, Colbie Callait and many more.

Ramada Oceanside Hotel
If you're looking for a cheap hotel in North County, this is a great choice. It's clean property and rooms rate well across the net and they are close to oceanside beach and Camp Pendleton. With prices sometimes as low as 50 dollars and a complimentary breakfast, this is worth looking into as an option for those looking for budget hotels near the beach.

The Pearl Hotel San Diego
The Pearl is one of a kind among cheap hotels San Diego. This is a boutique hotel that aims to please its visitors who are seeking a romantic atmosphere without damaging their bank account. While the hotel itself is nothing special, the rooms have the allure that you would expect from a much more expensive romantic hotel. The Pearl Hotel is located very centrally and is close to the freeway, but it has no immediate tourist attractions other than its pool. Rooms have been known to hit below 100, but you can expect to pay a little more for this romantic hotel.

Heritage Inn SeaWorld
A great cheap hotel near Sea World. The property, rooms, and service are all above average while the prices stay dirt cheap. Many hotels boast their nearness to Sea World, but few are actually as close as the Heritage Inn (less than 1 mile). The hotel is also a pretty straight shot to the airport, mission beach , ocean beach and many other attractions such as Cabrillo monument and whale watching.
